Larry Brinkin has been an activist in San Francisco for over 30
years. He was a member of the Society for Individual Rights, and was
a co-founder of Bay Area Gay Liberation, the Lesbian/Gay Labor
Alliance, and the Gay & Lesbian Alternative Dispute Resolution
Service. He has long been active in working for civil rights for all
people, especially in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and
HIV communities. He was a pioneer in the struggle for domestic
partner benefits. Currently, he is the Coordinator of the Lesbian
Gay Bisexual Transgender & HIV Division of the San Francisco
Human Rights Commission, and played a major role in the recent
passage of legislation in San Francisco protecting transgender
persons from discrimination.
